What You'll Be Certified to Teach
DFA Pro brings four essential emergency programs together into one instructor rating:
CPR & First Aid — primary and secondary care, the life-support and injury-management fundamentals every responder needs. Emergency Oxygen — recognizing dive injuries and delivering emergency oxygen correctly, a core skill for any dive team. Neurological Assessment — on-site neuro evaluation to help identify dive injuries and give first responders and medics critical information. Hazardous Marine Life Injuries — first aid for the stings, punctures, and envenomations divers actually encounter in the water.
More Than a Specialty
An emergency-care instructor rating is a prerequisite for the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating — so DFA Pro doesn't just make you a better pro, it's a step on the road to full instructor status. And because it's taught to non-divers too, it opens teaching opportunities well beyond the dive shop.

The Details
Prerequisite: minimum age 18 and current provider-level first aid and CPR training within the last 24 months. No diving certification required — this rating stands on its own.
Format: a single, in-person classroom day of instruction and hands-on skill practice. Offered at the front of each Instructor Development Course and on request.
Investment: $799, or $499 when bundled with an IDC.
