Questions
Do I need to be a strong swimmer for Discover Scuba?
No. You just need to be comfortable in the water and able to stay afloat at the surface.
Does Discover Scuba certify me?
No. It’s a try dive. To dive with a buddy on your own, take the Open Water Diver course.
Can I do Discover Scuba with my kids?
Yes. Anyone 10 or older can join.
Does my certification expire?
No, it’s good for life. But skills fade when you don’t use them, which is what ReActivate is for.
How long is too long between dives?
If it’s been six months or more, or you just feel rusty, ReActivate is a good idea. Many dive operators ask when you last dived before they take you out.
I’m certified with another agency. Can I ReActivate?
Yes. Bring your certification card and you’ll receive a PADI ReActivate recognition card.
