If you have decided that diving is a sport you want to really immerse yourself in, then it is time for you to discover our Continuing Education program to become an Advanced Open Water Diver.

Enrolling in a specialty course is a great way to hone your skills and learn some new ones. Continuing Education is exciting and limitless. Choose your personal combination of training and diving experience to reach your diving goals today! Each Specialty Program will provide you certain benefits and gets you one step closer to your Ultimate Dive Experience. Our goal is to prepare you for the adventure that lies ahead, as well as make sure you have a good time doing it! Each of our Specialty Programs focuses on the proper knowledge, skills, equipment, and experience required to help you become a proficient diver.

 

Advanced Scuba Diver training Programs are created to make truly “Advanced Divers.” During these courses, your Instructor will take you through complete specialty courses (for example; Deep, Navigation, Night, Computer Nitrox, Photo, Video, etc.) covering all the skills and subjects for that program, so that by the end you will feel comfortable to conduct dives of a similar nature. You can earn your Advanced Open Water certification, Rescue certification and Master certifications. After your Master certification, you can either choose to take a route in Technical diving or become a Dive Professional to help other divers learn to dive.

Advanced Open Water Diver Program

The Advanced Open Water Diver Program requires that you complete four specialties (Computer Nitrox is the only required course).  By the end of the program and after your 25th dive, you will be crowned with your Advanced Scuba Diver certification.

Who this course is for:

  • Any certified open water scuba diver who wishes to expand their diving knowledge and skill set
  • Any certified open water scuba diver who would like to advance their dive training
  • Any SDI Advanced Adventure diver or equivalent who would like to receive more experience in the specialties they participated in during their SDI Advanced Adventure diver program

 

Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver Course is designed to develop the knowledge and necessary skills to effectively perform diver rescues and assist and administer the necessary first aid in the event of an emergency. You will learn skills such as how to perform self rescues, buddy rescues, recognize and calm potential panic divers, administer proper first aid to divers that have experienced dive related injuries, conduct effective search patterns and manage accident scenes. After the SDI Rescue Diver Course you can enroll in the SDI Master Scuba Diver Development Program or start in the professional ranks and sign up for the SDI Divemaster Course. Pre-requisites include Advanced Open Water Diver, proof of at least 40 open water dives and completion of a CPR, First Aid  and Oxygen and AED Administration course. This course (CPR0x First Aid) is also available.

  • Any certified advanced adventure diver or advanced diver who would like to advance in dive training
  • Anyone interested in becoming a dive leader

 

Master Diver

 
The SDI Master Scuba Diver Development Program was created to make true master divers. The program requires a new open water diver to complete four Advanced Specialties, the Rescue Diver Course, and log 50 dives. A diver will be a true master scuba diver after these steps are accomplished.
 
This course is perfect for the certified diver looking to attain the highest non-leadership diver level.

At 20,000 Leagues Scuba and Aquatics, we thrive on the camaraderie of our DMs and Instructors. And we are able to help you achieve the next level of diving, Divemaster is the course for you. Our Divemasters help to bring our certified divers to various dive sites around the Southeast and even on International trips and assist with our Ambassador program.  

The SDI Divemaster Course is the first professional level certification. During the course you will learn how to work with divers, lead certified divers, and act as a dive guide showing divers underwater dive sites and the marine life that inhabits those dives sites. You will increase your knowledge about physics and physiology as well as increase your proficiency with your scuba and snorkeling skills.

 

Our Instructor course is perfect for any individual who love to share their passion for the underwater world with others. Instructors are our key to developing our future Dive Buddies and to help develop Advanced divers.

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor (OWSDI) course is designed to teach current Divemasters or Assistant Instructors certified with a recognized dive training organization the knowledge to effectively function as an open water scuba diver instructor. This program is divided into two sections, an instructor development course (IDC) and an instructor evaluation course (IEC).
