Lake Jocassee is a lake in Devil's Fork State Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in South Carolina. It is a manmade lake created by the building of a dam in 1973. Its clear mountain waters are fed by crystal clear trout springs whcih make it ideal for scuba diving. The maximum depth is over 360 feet and visibility is usually between 20 and 50 feet. In the summer, water temperatures are between 73 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and between 44 and 56 degrees in the winter. The water is clear and Lake Jocassee has some surprising jems hidden at the bottom.

The waters of Lake Jocassee are some of the cleanest and clearest waters in the Southeast, providing excellent visibility for all types of divers. Visibility is usually over 15 feet, and, at some depths, over 50 feet . There are many locations on Lake Jocassee that provide excellent opportunities for diving trips.
